Join the Southwest Society of Periodontists at the 2022 Summer Meeting!

July 29 - 31, 2022

We look forward to returning to the scenic Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas for the 2022 Summer Meeting, to be held Friday, July 29 – Sunday, July 31. Join your colleagues for this unique educational and networking opportunity for periodontists and dental professionals in the Southwest region.

This year, Dr. Daniel Melker will join us on Saturday to discuss the team approach in managing difficult periodontal and restorative cases. The success of managing difficult periodontal and restorative cases directly depends on the restorative dentist’s ability to take a broken-down tooth and rebuild it through the procedure of bonded composite resin, as well as provisional restorations, which will allow the periodontist to treat the tooth and restore it for long-term stability. We encourage you to invite restorative dentists to attend, as Dr. Melker’s lecture will focus heavily on this team approach.

On Sunday, Dr. George Kotsakis will discuss titanium particle-mediated peri-implantitis and the harm associated with empirical dental treatments, including a review of clinical cases to discuss strategies for prevention and mitigation.

Our Annual Meetings Committee is excited to welcome these two respected periodontists to our Society’s Summer Meeting and we know you will gain a great deal from attendance. We encourage you to share this educational opportunity with your restorative dentist partners and hygienists.

Please know that precautions will be taken during the meeting to protect as much as possible the health and safety of all Summer Meeting attendees. The SWSP Board of Directors and conference venue will determine what COVID-related procedures will be implemented based on the state of the pandemic at the time of the conference.
