SWSP Outstanding Scientific Publication Award
Goal:
The SWSP Outstanding Scientific Publication Award is presented to the most outstanding scientific published article with direct clinical relevance in periodontics and dental implants. The paper should present new information which may be readily used by practitioners in the evaluation and/or management of patients. Requirements:
- First, second or corresponding author must be a member of the SWSP.
- Members of the SWSP Board and SWSP Scientific Affairs Committee are not eligible. These individuals may not be the first, second or corresponding author on article submissions.
Articles must meet the following criteria:
- Published in a refereed scientific journal during the previous twelve months
- Published in English.
- Directly apply to the practice of periodontics and/or dental implantology.
- Publication should be basic research, clinical research, or case report.
Nomination & Selection Process:
- Nominations are submitted to the SWSP Scientific Affairs Committee to include:
- SWSP Award Nomination Form
- Deadline is December 1st of each year.
- The SWSP Scientific Affairs Committee make the final decision on the award recipient based on a scoring rubric to be developed.
- The Scientific Affairs Committee notifies the SWSP Board of Directors at the Winter Board of Directors’ Meeting
Award Presentation Date:
Winter Meeting (February)
Deadline to submit is December 1, 2025.
The awards presentation will take place at the 2026 Winter Meeting February 6-7, 2026, in Irving, Texas.
